FGS performing major rehab on downtown Madison apartments
In 1917, Madison Waterworks at Nichols Station pumped 8 million gallons of water a day to feed a growing city. Now, its comprehensive renovation is pumping new energy into downtown living. FGS The Restoration Company is performing a substantial rehab on all 34 units at Nichols Station, which is owned by its parent company, Wisconsin Management Company. The $4 million project should be completed in the fourth quarter of this year. Highlights include new kitchens and bathrooms, and the historic look of Nichols Station will be preserved, while improvements will make Nichols Station more energy efficient. Featuring studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, Nichols Station is located in downtown Madison, at the corner of East Gorham and North Franklin streets. It’s a stone’s throw from sprawling James Madison Park and picturesque Lake Mendota, and it’s only a few blocks from the Capitol Square. Perfectly tailored to fit every lifestyle, Nichols Station is an ideal home for the Madison enthusiast in search of something unique.
